A BIT ABOUT ME

As a physical educator, a health and fitness trainer, and aquatics (swim and water polo) coach, successfully guiding and inspiring my clients is at the forefront of my mind. We all lead busy lives, whether or not that’s always a good thing, and sometimes it can be hard to find the motivation to get up and get your body moving. But one thing that is going to make our day to day lives easier to manage - both mentally and physically - is movement. Health and fitness look different on everyone, but a large reason I was motivated to go into physical education is because I believe in lifelong fitness, and fitness for all. Growing up as a multi-sport athlete, it has been ingrained in me to workout and practice the movement that I love. I understand however, that pressures of competition and hours of practice a day is not for everyone. This is why I am passionate about helping others find the type of movement and physical activity that is right for them. I believe the way to ensure that people maintain their healthy habits is to change their mindset towards exercise - away from something that is seen as a chore, to something beneficial that can be enjoyed through all stages of life.

I truly believe that physical activity is one of the best forms of preventative medicine. In an era where obesity and health issues are skyrocketing, I hope to motivate people to find an active outlet to not only participate in, but to enjoy.

Some of the best coaches and teachers I’ve had throughout my life were tough, but they were encouraging and supportive; I try to channel these qualities into my training as well. I believe all people, whether competitive athletes or your average Joe, respond well to positive motivation and constructive feedback, but we can all use a little nudge sometimes too. Therefore, my philosophy for coaching and training is to unite and inspire individuals with common goals through the use of encouragement and consistency.  I hope to create within my clients an ability to see and reach their own potential by enhancing their athletic strengths, increasing their self esteem, improving their communication and time management skills, and expanding their knowledge of movement and health.  It took me a long time to understand that the payoff to my hard work and commitment in sports is not just valuable in athletics, but also translates in to other aspects of my life. I hope to share this understanding with my clients and help them become the healthiest versions of themselves.

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.

What People Are Saying

“I've taken countless exercise classes from hundreds of teachers and hands down, Natalie's classes are THE BEST. They are challenging, fun, and effective. She's a positive instructor who knows how to push you while motivating you, plus always offers modifications or clarifications to improve your form. My fitness, strength, and endurance has improved immensely since I started working out with Natalie. She really cares about helping you achieve YOUR personal best, and won't let you quit on yourself. Plus she's super knowledgeable about the body, so if you want to work on anything specific or have any injuries, she knows exactly what to do. Working out with Natalie is good for your mind, body, and soul.”

“Working out with Natalie is motivating, challenging in all the right ways, and fun! Natalie has such a warm, comfortable personality it’s always a very relaxed atmosphere.  Natalie is no nonsense with her workouts she gives great instruction and you will put in work but she is knowledgeable, she accommodates all levels and she is supportive throughout every workout. I never feel left behind or overlooked with her. Natalie is always about correct form and she pushes you to excel. I’ve loved working out with Natalie and I’ve personally noticed a change in my strength and mobility since I’ve started working out with her. I cannot recommend her enough! I always feel better coming out a class with her.”

— Ainé H.

“I’ve had the privilege to not only be coached by Natalie, but to be her teammate as well. She was our team captain my first semester at CCSF and then proceeded to be my coach for the following 3 semesters (2 semesters of swimming and my last semester of water polo). If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that your successes are her successes. Every time I got a personal best time, I’d look over at my coaches and Coach Natalie would have the biggest smile as if she swam the race with me. As a teammate, it was very clear to all of us, and anyone who would watch us play, how dedicated and driven Natalie was (and still is) in and out of the pool. Coach Natalie would push us to be our best in the pool, but also in the weight room as well. She would join in on the workouts and even outwork some of us as it was great motivation to keep pushing and to strive for better. She introduced me to and is the reason I started to compete in open water races such as Alcatraz swims and the Bridge to Bridge event. Even after my seasons have ended, I quickly realized that she is a lifelong teammate, coach, and friend.”
